2024 - Year In Review
After an incredibly successful 2023, we kicked off 2024 on a high note, setting the bar high to continue expanding the club. Our grassroots program saw a significant increase in participants, jumping from 61 kids in 2023 to over 180 in 2024. We swiftly adjusted by adding more teams and coaches, and we're pleased with how smoothly we managed the growth - though plenty of room for improvements in the coming seasons.
Rangers Shield
An initiative proposed by Geelong Rangers S.C, to build relationships with other 'Rangers' clubs through-out regional victoria, has continued on for another year.

We were fortunate enough to host this years 'Rangers Cup' and able to be the winning team on this day! A nice, sunny day saw a great turnout in spectators, and we were honoured to be able to welcome Warrnambool Rangers back to our newly developed facility whilst introducing Geelong Rangers to Ballarat.

This year saw the inclusion of the Womens squads to be apart and play off for their own unique 'Rangers Cup' - Geelong Rangers SC were the winning side in the women's this year.

We look forward to Warrnambool Rangers hosting in 2025, for a great day of building relationships and utilising this cup as a pre season opportunity.
FRSC - Junior Disco Night
In recent seasons, we have hosted a 'junior disco' night for all our children—a delightful evening brimming with fun, music, face painting, soft drinks, candies, and games. The feedback from both the kids and their families has been overwhelmingly positive, and we aim to make this an annual event at the beginning of the season to serve as a 'season launch' celebration for the children.
Alby Kinna Cup
Every year since the passing of Alby Kinna, the first game between Forest Rangers Soccer Club and Ballarat Soccer Club in the Division 1 Open competition, they play off for a cup (trophy).

FRSC beat Ballarat SC 7-2
Anton Erkamps-Seamons Cup
Similarly to the Alby Kinna Cup, each year, FRSC and Creswick SC meet for the chance to play off for the Anton Cup, a tradition that has been on-going for over a decade, and is always a great competitive match!

FRSC beat Creswick 7-0
Junior Trivia Night
In August, we organized a Trivia Night for our Competitive Junior teams, giving them the opportunity to compete against one another through a fun array of sports-related questions.
Players had the freedom to form their own teams, resulting in our under 12 Green team clinching the first prize, while our youngest squad (under 12 girls) received the wooden spoon - although had fun!
The evening included several mini-games, many of which are usually featured in our 18+ events, but with an enjoyable twist of soft drinks, candies, and a spirit of friendly rivalry. This event served as a fantastic opportunity for players who might not be interested in or are too mature for our junior disco, as well as a way to engage our more introverted participants.
We are considering the possibility of hosting this event again next season, depending on the interest expressed by the teams.
Our End of Year Celebrations
Just like last year, we organized a special day to celebrate our achievements.

A returning favorite, we featured a dunk tank where players had the opportunity to "dunk" their coach—thank you to all the coaches who took part, even in the chilly 10-degree weather!

Face painting was another hit among our MiniRoos, along with the penalty-kick competition.

In the evening, we also hosted a complimentary parma night for all FRSC families, fostering an opportunity for kids and parents to socialize during the last official game of the season.

The event was a tremendous success, with over 200 attendees enjoying the evening, and we are excited to consider hosting it again next year!
FINALS SERIES
League Champions!!
After a challenging season filled with injuries, holiday absences, and the integration of new players, we proudly achieved the incredible milestone of finishing at the top of the league table as champions! We are immensely proud of the team and the relentless determination demonstrated by each player throughout the season.
Our Senior Women's squad encountered defeat in the first round of finals against a formidable Ballarat SC side. However, finishing at the top of the table granted us a second chance; they faced Sebastopol Vikings SC the following week but also suffered a loss.
Although the cup eluded us this year, we can hold our heads high as we were the strongest team during the home and away season. We simply faced too tough of opponents in the finals series. We will regroup and aim to reclaim the cup next year!
Division 2 Open
After an intense home-and-away season, our hopes for the finals hinged on the last game. We managed to triumph over Bacchus Marsh, securing the 3rd spot on the table.
In the finals, we faced Ballarat SC, a team with whom we had several closely contested matches during the season. However, they proved to be too strong, and with their experienced lineup, they defeated us, bringing our Division 2 final series to a close.
We eagerly anticipate regrouping and making another run next year!
Now, Division 1 is Open!
Finishing in second place on the ladder to Sebas Vikings SC (the league champions) meant we would face them in the first round of the finals. After a strong 90-minute match, we emerged victorious with a score of 4-2, propelling us directly to the grand final.
Following their victory over North United the next week, we found ourselves up against Sebas once again in the grand final.
Our team delivered an exceptional performance, winning the Grand Final with a score of 6-1.
A heartfelt thank you to all our spectators who came out in full force to support our boys. We appreciate the other clubs who stayed to cheer us on. Finally, thank you to our players for their hard work, dedication, and belief in our goal of back-to-back grand final victories.
Congratulations to both our senior men's and women's teams; you've all earned this achievement! We eagerly anticipate what we can accomplish in 2025!
